Another day, another bear

After foxes, I seem to be obsessed with bears… But how cute is that one! Don’t you agree?

Effets de style

This week I am back with an illustration that has been in my head for a little while. I have worked and reworked on it and I let you discover the two variations that I did on it.

To keep up with the tradition of the past few weeks, here is another birthday card I made last week. And a little bit of news while I’m at it: I have only very recently opened an Etsy shop (there are a few Christmas cards on there already and more products to come in the near future) and this card (the polar bear one) actually gave me a few ideas of home crafted cards that I could sell on there. I am also thinking of drawing original illustrations on notebooks. If any of you has any further ideas on what you would like to see in my shop – ideally of things that are not breakable (I have thought of mugs with my original designs on too but I still need to think about the safe transportation issue; but in the meantime you can still get mugs from my Society 6 shop!) – do get in touch!

Before / After

The other day I was looking at the illustrations in my ‘animal series’ (you know, the fox, the bear, the giraffe, etc.) and I couldn’t help thinking that despite the fact that I liked them the bear and the elephant didn’t seem to fit completely in the family. A few days later I met with an illustrator friend and she told me that she felt the same way about them.

I didn’t need to think any further and went back to work to see how I could make them fit in the family.

Here is the before/after result. Which versions do you prefer?

Thank you for sharing your opinion! 🙂

Today a big brown bear came to say hello… This is what he looked like.
